Monthly Update // October

I always write my monthly updates on the final day of each month. And since today's post is being written on the final day of October, I've got a delightfully spooky feeling going on. :)

The Good, The Bad, The Bookish

For my birthday, I received several books as gifts. (Best gift idea ever, to be honest.) They are, in no particular order, The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey, The Novel Cure by Ella Berthoud and Susan Elderkin, and Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur. Milk and Honey is my favourite so far, and what makes it even more special is -- wait for it! -- Rupi Kaur liked my Instagram photo of her book! (You can see my previous blog post for the proof.) I was ecstatic.

This month I've also been reading The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne for my English class. You can expect a Currently Reading post on that novel very soon!

Up Close and Personal

For starters, this morning I dyed the ends of my hair silver! (It only took three hours!) It's the first time I've ever dyed my hair. What do you think?

My birthday was about two weeks ago, which was fun. I also got accepted to the National Honor Society, so that's exciting too. Besides that, I've mostly been doing my schoolwork and continuing with my job.

Next week is a special anniversary, so I'm preparing for that too. I just bought gifts and I can't wait to give them!

We're well into autumn now! How was your October?
