Highlights of My Week!

It's me again!

I know this week has been nothing special for most of us (unless it's your birthday or something . . . in which case, happy birthday!), but mine had some pretty happy details, and here they are!

If you haven't heard yet (*clears throat insistently* a-HEM), my own birthday was pretty recent! My puppy-cute, candy-sweet friends bought me a book called The Novel Cure by Ella Berthoud and Susan Elderkin.

It's so creative! It's like an encyclopaedia of problems that recommends books you should read based on what kind of problems you're experiencing, to help you solve the problem or feel better. There are physical (nausea, the common cold, pregnancy, and other conditions) and non-physical problems (unemployment, breakups, annoying in-laws, you get the idea). Plus, it was a perfect gift since I was battling sinusitis all that week.

Also, if you haven't seen it yet, I took a photo of the copy of Milk and Honey (by Rupi Kaur) that I got for my birthday, posted it on Instagram, and she liked it! The proof is in the image above. I was incredibly thrilled that . . . man, oh man . . . an actual author liked my measly Instagram photo of her book! I am unworthy!

Anyway, it was exciting. The final happy detail that I'd like to share is that all this week, I've been getting gifts made out of tinfoil from my boyfriend. They're small and super cute. He's made me three tinfoil roses, a tinfoil heart, and a tinfoil spider. (Guess which one of those I'm most proud of. That arachnid has a special place on my shelf.)

Well, that's my week. How was yours?
